World Rainforest Day
Rainforests are often referred to as the "lungs of the Earth" because they produce about 20% of the world's oxygen. They are home to an estimated 50% of the planet's plant and animal species, many of which are not found anywhere else. These biodiverse ecosystems also play a crucial role in regulating the global climate by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. Moreover, rainforests are a source of valuable resources, including medicinal plants, and they support the livelihoods of millions of indigenous and local communities.
Global Wind Day
Wind energy is one of the fastest-growing sources of renewable energy in the world. It harnesses the power of the wind to generate electricity, providing a clean, sustainable, and inexhaustible source of energy. Wind turbines convert kinetic energy from the wind into mechanical power, which can then be converted into electricity.
